6+ Short Deck is a new variation of Texas Hold'em played with 36 cards. With a shorter deck, this poker variant is more dynamic and unpredictable.

The rules of Short Deck Poker differ slightly from all other types of poker. Participants also receive two pocket cards and use up to five community cards. They spend up to four rounds of dealing and collect similar combinations. However, the reduced deck brings its own peculiarities.
Short Poker is played with a deck that has no cards from twos to fives. In this case, the ace can participate in the straight as a junior or senior.

The 6+ card combinations are unchanged from other poker varieties. However, the precedence is slightly different. At GGPoker, a flush is higher than a full house and a straight is higher than a set.
Up to six players sit at the Short Deck Poker table. At the beginning of the hand, all opponents bet an ante. And one is the batton blind. After receiving two pocket cards, the poker players need to equalize or raise the BB. This is how the first round of betting - preflop - takes place.
After all bets are equalized, three common cards are revealed on the board (the flop). On this street, players can raise (Raise). They can also equalize their opponents' bets (call) or fold (fold).
Then the fourth card on the board is opened, and the third stage of trading begins - the turn. Possible actions of opponents are similar.
The fifth community card and the final round of bidding is called the river. Poker players can also make raises, call bets or fold. At the end of this street, the opponents reveal their cards on the showdown and reveal the winner.
If the opponents collect equal poker combinations, they split the pot 50 / 50.
A shorter deck has a direct impact on players' odds and probabilities. First of all, poker players are more likely to pick up combinations, be it pocket pair, set or full house.

From here we can see that any chances of getting a stronger combination in 6+ Plus Holdem are higher compared to its classic variant. The exception is the flush. It is more difficult to make it because of the smaller number of single-suit cards in the deck. For this reason, it is older than a full house.
The reduced number of cards in the deck also affects the strategy of playing Short Deck Poker. The basic idea is that you need to use a higher range of hands. Since the probability of strong combinations of your opponents is higher. In addition, you should use fewer mixed hands. The optimal tactics for preflop and postflop are different.
The most valuable hands on preflop are one-high hands and pocket pairs of two nines or higher. The former can turn into a flush (a natty combination in most hands). The latter can turn into a set or a full house.
Since there are no outright trash hands like J2 or K4 in the shortdeck, aces and kings with weak and medium kickers are unsuitable. Playing such starters is not worth it in principle. And it's better to get into a hand with all-in AK, AQ, AJ and AT only in late positions.
Thus, the correct preflop strategy exists. It consists in shifting the range towards one-suit hands, as well as strong and middle pockets.
The probability of a straight or set is higher in Short Deck. Therefore, pocket pairs, dopers, and sometimes even weak trips are often devalued on the postflop.
Optimal play on this street is impossible without constant counting of outs. Unlike classic Hold'em, here their number should be multiplied by 3 and 6 respectively.
It is important to make any postflop decisions based on current outs, odds and pot size.
To successfully play 6 Plus Hold'em, you need to master the basic nuances of this poker variation.
A few recommendations for beginners:
Do not play mixed aces with weak and medium kickers. Proceed with caution with AKo ATo.
Aggressively play nat combinations after the flop. Because of the short deck, the odds are higher for your opponents.
Favor a more pot-limit style. Because of the ante and more unpredictability in the game.
Play the straight draw. After all, the probability of closing the combination after turn and river is higher than 50%.
Do not get attached to pocket top pairs. Because they are often devalued preflop without getting into a set. So you can't be a nit and wait for two aces or kings.
